Love is in the air!

This is the most romantic time of the year- staying in on a cold night, sipping hot cocoa in front of the fireplace, and taking walks through a bright white winter wonderland filled with soft, twinkling lights. There is a reason they call this time of year "Engagement Season". Celebrating the end of one year, and the beginning of a brand new year, you can't help but feel closer to those around you- especially a significant other. If you have been looking for the right time to "Pop the question", many would say that this cozy holiday season is the perfect opportunity.

We are here to help you pick out a unique engagement ring, to match the unique girl you want to spend the rest of your life with. There are SO many beautiful rings out there, but most women have a preferred style they tend to like more than others. This is helpful information to get from your special lady before looking at engagement rings. There are a number of styles and settings available that will determine the entire look of the ring. Here are a few examples of diamond settings:

White gold, yellow gold, rose gold, or platinum are some of the most recommended metals to use for a women's engagement ring and wedding band.

There are also many options for someone who is not looking to spend a huge amount of money on an engagement ring. Many people opt for an alternative diamond, or a less-expensive gemstone in place of a real diamond. Some popular options are to use a diamond simulant, such as Cubic Zirconia (CZ), or moissanite. Some also turn to synthetic (man-made) diamonds that have been created in a lab. A more recent trend is to skip the diamond entirely, and use an alternative gemstone such as sapphire, emerald, ruby, or aquamarine. Truly, everyone has their own idea of what an engagement ring should cost and look like, and that is perfectly alright!

At Peninsula Jeweler, we both design and create CUSTOM engagement rings. We love to know that you will be receiving exactly what you imagined.

We also teamed up with a company called "Ever & Ever", who gives us the ability to customize engagement rings to your specific needs. With their online tools, we can see detailed images of what your ring will look like with different stones, metals, and settings. We can choose a setting, choose a diamond based on clarity and price range, or swap out the diamond for a different gemstone and be able to see what the ring will look like. After creating the perfect ring, it can take anywhere from 5-21 days to get it completed and delivered, depending on the amount of alterations and stone type.

Custom Designs by Peninsula Jeweler: The process of creating a custom engagement or wedding ring is a beautiful process. We love to put our heads together with a customer to design that perfect ring. If you want to be part of a wonderful design process, we can make a special ring for you right here in our shop. We like to take careful time and consideration into our custom designs, so if you are looking to get your hands on a ring more quickly, we recommend ordering from Ever & Ever (See above).

Here is a ring we designed for a customer in the past. After making a sketch of a design, we carved a wax mold and made sure it was exactly what the customer wanted, then we cast it in gold and set the diamonds.

If you are thinking about getting engaged, or if you would like more information, we are happy to help.
